About this tool
The converter uses the short scale (a billion is one thousand million) and hyphenates compounds such as thirty-four. Decimals are read digit by digit after "point". Numbers up to the quintillions are supported.
Always double-check legal and financial documents, since local conventions differ on words such as "and" after hundreds.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does it include "and"?
- It follows American style without "and" (one hundred twenty-three). Add it if your style guide requires British wording.
- Can it convert currency?
