UTM Checker

Paste any tracked link to see how analytics will read it. The checker lists every UTM parameter, highlights mistakes and gives you a corrected URL to copy.

What the UTM checker looks for

  • Missing utm_source, utm_medium or utm_campaign.
  • Empty values and duplicated parameters.
  • Uppercase letters that split one source into several rows in reports.
  • Spaces and special characters inside values.
  • Misspelled or unsupported names such as utm-source or utm_sorce.

Why check links before launch

A single typo in a UTM parameter sends traffic to an unexpected row in your report and the mistake cannot be corrected afterwards, because analytics data is not rewritten. Checking links before they go into ads and emails is the cheapest fix.

Normalized output

The tool offers a corrected version of the URL with lowercase values, underscores instead of spaces and standard utm_ names. It does not invent values that are missing, so you still need to add any absent source, medium or campaign yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the checker open or visit my link?
No. It only reads the text of the URL in your browser and never requests the page.
Are uppercase UTM values really a problem?
They are not an error in the URL, but analytics reports treat Facebook and facebook as different values, which splits your data.
Which parameters are treated as standard?
utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content and the Google Analytics 4 extras utm_id, utm_source_platform, utm_creative_format and utm_marketing_tactic.
Can I check many links at once?
The checker handles one URL at a time. To create many consistent links, use the bulk UTM builder.
