About this tool
Three common questions are covered: what is X% of Y (for example a discount or tip), X is what percent of Y (for example a test score), and what is the percentage change from X to Y (for example growth in sales).
Percentage change is calculated as (new - old) / |old| x 100, so a rise from 50 to 75 is +50% while a fall from 80 to 60 is -25%.
Frequently Asked Questions

- Multiply 200 by 0.15 to get 30. Choose "What is X% of Y" and enter 15 and 200.

- Going from 10% to 12% is a rise of 2 percentage points, which is a 20% relative increase.
