How to use Sitemap XML Generator
- Paste one URL per line.
- Choose the change frequency, priority and last modified date.
- Copy the XML and save it as sitemap.xml.
About this tool
A sitemap lists the pages you want search engines to find. The generator wraps each address in the standard sitemap protocol XML, escapes special characters such as & and removes duplicates. A single sitemap file can hold up to 50,000 URLs or 50 MB uncompressed.
Google ignores priority and change frequency, but it uses an accurate lastmod date. Submit the file in Google Search Console and reference it in robots.txt.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does priority matter?
- Google says it ignores the priority and changefreq values. They are optional.
- How do I submit a sitemap?
- In Google Search Console under Sitemaps, or by adding a Sitemap line to robots.txt.
