How to use Text Diff Checker
- Paste the original text on the left.
- Paste the changed text on the right.
- Read the diff: lines starting with + were added and - were removed.
About this tool
The comparison works line by line using a longest-common-subsequence algorithm, the same idea used by version control tools. Lines present in both are shown unchanged, so you can see differences in context.
Up to 1,500 lines per side are supported. Everything is compared locally.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does it compare words within a line?
- No. The comparison is line based, so a changed word marks the whole line as changed.
- Is whitespace ignored?
- No. A line that differs only by a space is shown as changed.
