How to use GCD and LCM Calculator
- Enter two or more whole numbers separated by commas, spaces or new lines.
- Read the GCD (also called HCF) and the LCM.
- Use the GCD to simplify fractions.
About this tool
The greatest common divisor is the largest number that divides all of the inputs. The least common multiple is the smallest number that all of the inputs divide into. They are linked: for two numbers, GCD times LCM equals the product of the numbers.
The GCD is computed with the Euclidean algorithm.
Frequently Asked Questions

- They are the same thing. HCF (highest common factor) is the common name in the UK and GCD in the US.
- How does this help with fractions?
