How to use Online Calculator
- Type an expression using numbers, + - * / ^ % and brackets.
- Use functions such as sqrt(16), sin(30), log(100) and constants pi and e.
- Choose degrees or radians for trigonometry and read the result.
About this tool
Operators follow the usual order of operations: brackets, then powers, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. Factorial (5!) and percent-style remainder (%) are supported, and ^ means "to the power of".
The expression is parsed by a small built-in parser instead of running code, so it is safe to paste expressions from anywhere.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Which functions are available?
- sqrt, cbrt, abs, sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, ln, log (base 10), log2, exp, floor, ceil, round, sign, min, max and pow, plus the constants pi, e and tau.
- What does % do?
- It returns the remainder after division, like 10 % 3 = 1. For percentages use the percentage calculator.
- Why do I see tiny rounding errors?
- Computers store decimals in binary, so results such as 0.1 + 0.2 may show 0.30000000000000004. The calculator rounds to 12 significant digits to hide this.
