How to use HTML Link Generator
- Enter the link text and URL.
- Choose nofollow, sponsored, ugc or open in a new tab.
- Copy the HTML.
About this tool
Use rel="sponsored" for paid or affiliate links, rel="ugc" for links in user-generated content and rel="nofollow" when you do not want to vouch for a destination. Links that open in a new tab should also carry noopener so the new page cannot control the original window, which the generator adds automatically.
Link text and attribute values are HTML-escaped.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need noreferrer?
- It hides the referrer from the destination. noopener alone protects against window hijacking, but both are commonly used together.
- When should I use nofollow?
- When you do not want to pass endorsement to a page, for example untrusted links.
